Kiss of Light

For a period of time I worked a lot with mixing together different media formats, where I would take the basic structure of a photograph, for example, and then add paints, inks, other photographs, or anything that struck my fancy. The results were usually pretty good, though they strayed far from my illustrator background.

But what I got was something that I could not have created by picking up a pen and paintbrush. The symmetry and colorscape borrowed from photography gave the work a depth and structure that I likely could not have achieved otherwise.

My impression of the sun setting over the Lost Coast of California. It may be that you'll have to get a closer look to see the depth and texture.
